香港應用科技研究院於本項目中把合成活性材料的優勝技術應用於開發比容量大於180 mAh/g 的Li-Mn-Ni-O 類型的新型富鋰正極材料。項目中所提出的正極材料含有較少量的昂貴元素,因此材料價格在市場上具有競爭力。為了利於正極的設計,正極材料的工業化製備方法將會進行優化。此後,ASTRI的富鋰正極和高容量負極將組裝成全電池並進行評估以展示能量密度達到620 mWh/cm3。
