Description:
Analog-to-digital converter is used to interface between the physical environment and digital domain that process data with sophisticate algorithm. The emerging portable medical and micro-sensor devices usually have stringent requirements on energy consumption. Ultra low-energy data converter is therefore a key technology to facilitate such applications and to extend battery life. The core building blocks of this program include ultra-low energy successive approximation register (SAR) and multi-stage sigma-delta (SD) analog-to-digital converter. These IP blocks will become the initial prototype ICs subsystem which can later be reused to build more complex integrated system. Thus we not only address the current market needs and generate immediate incomes but also lay down the foundation for more advanced analog circuit technology for future technological needs in Hong Kong.
