Description:
Riding on the success of prior projects in e-Learning, ASTRI is planning on a Smart Classroom project to enhance interactions and collaborations in classroom. In recent years, ASTRI has achieved great heights in the area of collaborative learning using mobile devices. Its mobile learning activities have been well received by the education community and drawn participation of more than 70 schools. Based on its own mobile collaborative e-Learning platform, ASTRI and its commercial partner also developed an in-class student management system. This award winning product is offered as the key component of a total e-Learning solution by a premium service provider - HKT education. Along with its intention to venture into education beyond primary school, Smart Classroom's focus on student-centric learning provides perfect coverage for secondary and tertiary education. Key features in this Smart Classroom platform include interactive learning, content sharing, as well as ad hoc content creation. Taking advantage of equipment commonly seen in classroom such as Interactive Whiteboard and tablets, it promotes students' self-initiated learning, participation and interactions with the teacher as well as with fellow students. In addition to supporting materials prepared prior to the class for interactive learning activities, this system also supports activities with materials created on-the-fly, to cope with the dynamic and adaptive nature of classroom teaching and learning.
